No. 1 reason the LA Clippers should stay far away from a Kemba Walker trade: We’re getting Jason Preston back this year

The LA Clippers will likely be getting Jason Preston back later this season, so they don’t exactly need Kemba Walker to come in and provide point guard depth for them. Preston is recovering from foot surgery, but is a fine prospect who will make an impact on the Clippers when he gets back.

He’s not the quickest guard out there, but he really thrives off of the pick-and-roll and is a plus-defender. A solid shooter, Preston is someone that fits this team and someone that the Clippers want to build with.

The Clips should go with the guy they drafted and used to install what we’re trying to do this year. Going with someone from another team and hoping he adjusts well to the type of basketball we want to play isn’t a foolproof plan.

We’re in a good spot so far this year. We don’t need to be entertaining these controversial moves.
