No. 2 exciting takeaway from the LA Clippers’ seven-game winning streak: Reggie Jackson is back

After Reggie Jackson was one of the top couple LA Clippers in the playoffs last season (excluding the injured Leonard), he didn’t look the same at the start of the season for the Clips this year.

Jackson’s numbers in the playoffs last season looked like this:

  • 17.8 PPG
  • 3.4 APG
  • 48.4 FG%
  • 40.8 3-PT FG%
  • 87.8 FT%

In the first five games of this season, however, Jackson took a step back, putting up these statistics:

  • 14 PPG
  • 3.8 APG
  • 31.3 FG%
  • 29.2 3-PT FG%
  • 80 FT%

In the winning streak, however, Jackson not only came back to form, but got even better:

  • 21.3 PPG
  • 4.6 APG
  • 46.7 FG%
  • 39.3 3-PT FG%
  • 92.9 FT%

Jackson seemed to just need to get acclimated to playing alongside Eric Bledsoe in the backcourt. After last season, it was certainly possible that the Clips could go with two-PG lineups, but obviously Jackson wasn’t expecting Patrick Beverley to be gone, and Bledsoe to enter the fold.

Jackson has recently been playing some of the best basketball of his career, and proving that it was the right decision to bring him back for this season.
