Anyone who thinks the LA Clippers would be 2-4 this season if they weren’t decimated by injuries is insane.
The Clips haven’t been able to play cohesively with all of this depth constantly missing from the team. The team has played without Kawhi Leonard, Serge Ibaka, Keon Johnson, and Jason Preston all year. They’ve recently been playing without Marcus Morris Sr. as well.
So far this year, the updates on Ibaka and Morris have overall been positive, and it’s seemed likely that the two of them would probably be back sooner rather than later. On Monday, however, things seemed a little off.
It’s unclear as to when Serge Ibaka and Marcus Morris Sr. will be back for the LA Clippers.
Ty Lue had never given as vague of an answer as to the health of Serge Ibaka and Marcus Morris Sr. this season for the LA Clippers.
Ibaka was not expected to miss the first six games of the season, and Clipper fans were really hoping they wouldn’t have to see Morris on the injury report consistently again. He’s played in just two games this season.
The Clippers have really struggled with their three-point shooting this year (21st in NBA in three-point percentage), and having Morris, who had the second-best three-point percentage in basketball last year (47.3%) back would be a major boost.
Ibaka, too, is the only center on this team who has a three-point shot, so he would help in that department. His length would also help the Clippers in rebounding, as they once again haven’t been any good on the rebounding end this year (27th in NBA in rebounds per game).
Paul George is having an MVP-level season, but he hasn’t gotten enough help in return to put some wins on the standings sheet. It’s clear that this will be a different team when these two are back.
