The LA Clippers dropped a winnable game to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, but it was absolutely not the story of LA’s basketball scene on Wednesday.

The Lakers blew a 26-point lead to the Oklahoma City Thunder in embarrassing fashion to lose by eight points.

Instead of focusing on his own team having their worst loss of the season (which has had three embarrassing losses already), LeBron James took the chance to try to direct attention away from the Lakers loss and switch the focus to the Clippers, when Collin Sexton dunked on Nicolas Batum in transition.

LeBron James couldn’t take the heat his team was getting, and tried to flip the attention onto the LA Clippers.

It was very obvious what LeBron James was doing here, and others noticed him trying to switch the focus onto the crosstown LA Clippers as well.

It was a bad look for LeBron. Sure, nobody enjoys being dunked on like that, but I’d take it over blowing a 26-point lead to a bad Thunder team when the Lakers (and LeBron in particular) have spent tons of time since the offseason hyping up their retirement home squad. Even some Laker fans weren’t having it.

Besides, the Cavaliers have played well this year. They’re sitting at 3-2 right now with now three straight wins against playoff teams from last year (Hawks, Nuggets, and Clippers). The Thunder, on the other hand, are now 23-54 in these last two seasons.

Next. Winners and losers of Cavs loss. dark

This is their one win out of five games this season. Wednesday night was bad for LA basketball, but for the Lakers in particular.
