No. 1 thing the LA Clippers need to do to sweep the Portland Trail Blazers again: Double-team Damian Lillard

Another way for the LA Clippers to contain Damian Lillard would be to double-team him. They have no reason not to.

We need to make sure Lillard isn’t the one to beat us. Their top weapon is Lillard and it’s not close, so why not try everything we can to focus on him?

Their other offensive threats aren’t even close to as threatening as Lillard. Lillard so far is averaging a career-high 9.5 assists so far, and scored 19 points in just 24 minutes against the Phoenix Suns in his last game. He was dominating them so badly they just took him out.

He’s scary, and we’d rather have the likes of Jusuf Nurkic or CJ McCollum beat us instead of the one who we know is going to get the rock and be aggressive.

Nurkic and McCollum are good players, but we’d rather take our chances on letting them get open than letting Lillard get any quality looks.

The Clippers are going to be shorthanded this year in likely every single game against Portland this year. We can absolutely still go 4-0 against them, however, making that three straight season sweeps against the franchise.
