In the offseason, the LA Clippers were seen as players for DeMar DeRozan.

A Compton native, DeRozan is from the area, and played college ball at USC. He’s an LA guy, through and through.

He had made comments about prioritizing winning a championship at this point in his career during the offseason as well. If he went to Clip City, he’d have that chance.

Instead, DeMar DeRozan went to a Chicago Bulls team that has no chance at winning a title.

Recently, DeMar DeRozan admitted that he was very interested in being an LA Clipper.

In an interview with Draymond Green, DeMar DeRozan made it clear that he was interested in playing with our LA Clippers.

He was interested in coming back home to LA to be with his mother. Unfortunately, his father passed away in February, and being close to her was something important to him. He was interested in playing with either the Clippers or the Los Angeles Lakers.

"“It was a real possibility,” said DeRozan. “I’d be lying to you if I said that I didn’t want to come home. I did try to make it happen. Just things didn’t work out.”"

DeRozan expressed that he likes the talent he’s going to play with out in Chicago. The Lonzo Ball signing was something that he liked. He also said he likes Nikola Vucevic, and was very complimentary of Zach LaVine.

DeRozan got his bag, but will not be winning as much this year as he would with the Clippers. The Bulls have been one of the top laughingstocks of the league these last four years, winning 33.9% of their games in that time span, despite playing weak Eastern Conference schedules. They have made the playoffs once in the last six years, getting bounced in the first round in their lone appearance.
