No. 2 tough contract decision the LA Clippers must make next offseason: Re-signing Serge Ibaka or not

Serge Ibaka hasn’t had a ton of opportunity to make his mark with the LA Clippers.

Injuries have really plagued him in his short tenure with LA. He missed 31 regular season games, and all but two playoff games in his one season with the Clips. He picked up his option to stay with the Clippers this year, but will be a free agent again next year.

It could end up being a tough decision for the Clippers when it comes to determining whether they want to bring him back or not. He’s 32 years old, and is past his prime.

If Ibaka stays healthy this year, though, he could be a major impact player for this squad. He still has some quickness on defense, has a three-point stroke in his arsenal, and still blocks over a shot per game.

If he’s healthy this year, the Clippers will certainly have interest in bringing Ibaka back. If not, however, the Clips may want to go in a different direction. I personally like Ibaka, and would love to see him have a big year and re-sign with us.
