No. 1 area for Paul George to improve for the LA Clippers this year: Clutch free throw shooting

Paul George is a very good free throw shooter. Since the 2015-2016 season, George has shot 85.7% from the line.

Last year, he shot even better than that, at 86.8%. He shot 84.4% in the playoffs too. It wasn’t his overall free throw shooting that got the trolls going crazy.

It was his free throw shooting in some clutch moments in the Western Conference Finals where George could have been better. He missed some clutch free throws in Games 2 and 4.

While I would strongly suggest never paying social media trolls any attention, or valuing their basketball opinion, I do think that PG is capable of shooting better at the free throw line in those clutch moments.

He has the experience of dealing with that pressure now. He took the lump. He’s going to be ready this year, and has a chance to really prove himself to be the clutch player he’s been at several points in his career.

George is going to prove a lot of people wrong this year, and has the chance to have an MVP season now that he’s the focus of this team. There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to this team, and George is that most exciting piece of the squad.
