No. 2 reason why the LA Clippers will be better than the LA Lakers again: The Clips are more athletic
Look at the ages of the LA Clippers roster vs. the ages of the Los Angeles Lakers roster.
The Lakers spent this offseason signing old guys who don’t have the legs and stamina to keep up with the Clippers.
The Clippers are a team built off of a lot of quick, long wings who can stretch the floor and guard many positions on the court.
The Lakers have constructed their roster with a bunch of over-the-hill players, some of which are straight washed at this point (see: Rajon Rondo).
Even the likes of Dwight Howard, DeAndre Jordan, and Carmelo Anthony are well past their primes and don’t have the springs they used to have despite still being productive players.
Many of these older vets aren’t going to be able to play the consistent minutes needed, and 82 games is a long season. I don’t know if they’ll be able to hold up. Even LeBron James and Davis couldn’t even stay upright last year.
They didn’t have a bad offseason, so to speak. But they did certainly have an underwhelming one in a year where they couldn’t afford it.
