No. 1 training camp decision that could have a seismic impact on the LA Clippers: The backup point guard

With Bledsoe and Jackson on the court at the same time to start games, it appears that the next man in line at point guard is Jason Preston.

So, the decision does seem to already be made, but we’ll need to monitor it and act accordingly if Preston isn’t ready.

If Preston doesn’t get acclimated to the professional game right away, which is understandable, we might want to rethink how we construct that starting lineup.

If not, we’d have to have Jay Scrubb lead that second team at the point, which would probably not be best.

I like Scrubb, but he just doesn’t have the potential Preston has, and might even be better as a two-guard.

I trust Lue’s judgment, but it’s something to think about. After all, nobody in the league is going into this season with no roster questions at all.

Training camp will be important for talent evaluation this year, and the coaching staff is going to need to work extra hard now that we don’t have Chauncey Billups anymore.

The season really has already started. Preparation is going to be as important as anything.
