The LA Clippers are already in training camp now, and have a great roster to work with.

A few final decisions by Ty Lue could have lasting impacts on how that roster performs.

I 100% trust Lue to make the best possible decisions, as I firmly believe he’s a top four coach in this league. There’s a lot at stake here, and how we choose to capitalize off of the strengths of this team is the most important part of training camp.

No. 3 training camp decision that could have a seismic impact on the LA Clippers: Who are the 3 wings on the second team?

Ty Lue said he expects the LA Clippers to go with this starting lineup right now:

PG/SG: Reggie Jackson

PG/SG: Eric Bledsoe

SF: Paul George

PF: Marcus Morris Sr.

C: Ivica Zubac

This means that there are going to be questions as to who will make up the two, three, and four spots in that second lineup. The Clippers have options.

It could be any three of the following:

  • Nicolas Batum
  • Terance Mann
  • Luke Kennard
  • Keon Johnson
  • Brandon Boston Jr.

We know they’re going to start three wings in their second lineup to go along with Jason Preston and Serge Ibaka.

They can go with the three returners in Batum, Mann, and Kennard. They could also try to mix in a rookie or two with Johnson and Boston.

The two rookies have a lot of upside, and the returners all do at least one thing really well. If we can nail this decision, our second lineup is going to be stacked.
