No. 2 player on LA Clippers that should take buzzer-beater shots in 2021-22: Reggie Jackson

They don’t call Reggie Jackson ‘Mr. June’ for nothing. Jackson was about as clutch as it gets for the LA Clippers in the playoffs this past year.

He not only was shooting high percentages (48.4% from the field and 40.8% from three), but he was hitting the shots when they counted the most. He routinely responded to bad defensive possessions from his teammates; following them up with clutch shots on offense.

Savvy NBA fans weren’t even surprised. In his previous two seasons in the NBA playoffs before last year, he shot 49.1% from three. In 2020 he shot over 53% from back there in the playoffs.

This dude always turns it up when the pressure is on. Even in his first-ever postseason back in 2013, he shot almost 48% from the field.

If we need to call on somebody to take a buzzer-beater, Jackson’s name needs to be in the discussion. He’s proven time after time that he can shoot well in big games, and has lots of experience playing in them as a ten-year veteran himself.

They shouldn’t prioritize him over our number one option next year, however.
