Ranking who should shoot the most threes for the LA Clippers in ’21-22

No. 2: Marcus Morris Sr.

Marcus Morris Sr. had the second-highest three-point percentage in basketball last year (47.3%) with the LA Clippers.

His three-point percentage was the exact same as his field goal percentage. He loves to shoot the three ball.

For that reason, he needs to keep shooting them. He had the top spot last year, and earned these types of looks. I don’t, however, believe he should be shooting the most, however.

This is because in the postseason, Morris proved to be much better shooting on the wing than the baseline. There’s nothing wrong with that, and expected for many players. The issue, however, is that the Clippers are going to have multiple other players on the wing more often than Morris for the Clippers.

Morris is the power forward in most Clipper lineups, and he’s going to be multiple passes away form the point guard very frequently when he’s on the perimeter. He’ll be on the baseline a lot next year.

He shot just 25% (8 of 32) from the baseline in the postseason this past year compared to where he was on the wing at 46.4% (26 of 56). I see a lot of baseline shots for Morris this season, and while I think he can rise to the challenge, I’d rather put the most three-point shots in the hands of our best player.
