3 Ben Simmons trade packages the LA Clippers will have to beat
By Evan Desai
No. 1 Ben Simmons trade package that the LA Clippers would have to beat:
The Golden State Warriors would be competing with the LA Clippers, should the Clips try to bring Ben Simmons over here. They’d have quite the enticing package for the three-time All-Star.
This trade could actually have really big potential for both teams. The Warriors would have a death lineup again, IF they can figure out how to space the floor properly with Ben Simmons joining their big three.
The Sixers, on the other hand, would be getting multiple first round picks, which they want. In addition, they get Andrew Wiggins, who proved himself to be a good two-way player who can shoot. Obviously, Simmons is a good two-way player who can’t shoot.
I’m not saying that Wiggins is overall a better player than Simmons, as Simmons is better in a high majority of categories. But the Sixers are done with him, and Wiggins’ well-rounded game would fit. It could potentially make them better next year, and the picks in this deal would surely improve the team in the long run if they hit on their selections.
If you’re a Clippers fan and want Ben Simmons, I just don’t know if the team has the right assets that the 76ers are looking for. They want to both get better right now, and demand picks.
As for the former, the Clippers can help. They don’t, however, have the picks for the Sixers to take interest in trading with them.
