No. 1 disadvantage for the LA Clippers to trade for John Wall: Durability

John Wall struggled with something last year that the LA Clippers mightily struggled with last year themselves: Availability.

All of Kawhi Leonard, Serge Ibaka, Paul George, Patrick Beverley, and Marcus Morris Sr. all struggled with staying healthy. Ivica Zubac also had to miss the last couple games of the Western Conference Finals.

Wall only played 40 games last season. In fact, he also only played 40 games in the past two seasons combined, as he missed all of 2019-2020. He even missed 50 games in the 2018-2019 year.

The Clippers need to make moves to stay healthy this year, not moves that could jeopardize that.

Again, I like what Wall brings to the table, and I think whoever gets him is going to get somebody who’s really good and maybe great while he’s on the court.

But, how often is he going to be on the court? It doesn’t seem like he will be all too often, so I’m going to have to pass on the former elite point guard.
