No. 2 LA Clippers player in need of a career resurgence: Eric Bledsoe

Eric Bledsoe had a really tough time playing a position last year that he hadn’t primarily played for the LA Clippers or any other team he was on.

Bledsoe was primarily a two-guard last year for the New Orleans Pelicans. It was really the first time he had ever been a two-guard as much as he was for the Pelicans.

The last time he was primarily a point guard, he was much better. He won consecutive All-Defensive Team selections, and has had seasons where he’s scored over 21 points per contest before. That year was the 2016-2017 season, where he also averaged a career-high in assists at 6.3.

Bledsoe will be primarily a ballhandler again with the Clippers, as he was when he played for Clip City before. He won’t start, but has the chance to flourish in this new role. A role that he’s exceled in before.

If he does, then losing Patrick Beverley won’t be a problem. If he doesn’t, then we may have gone from having too many point guards to too little.
