No. 1 goal for Paul George to win MVP with the LA Clippers next year: Embrace the role as the number one option

Next year is all going to be about embracing that role as the number one option of the LA Clippers for Paul George.

If he wants to be an MVP, he needs to really take on the role of the number one superstar on the court. That means he’s going to take on the best offensive opponent when he’s on defense, and not give any of those possessions to Marcus Morris. It means that he’ll be confident enough to take the ball up and go coast to coast when needed throughout games.

He’ll need to be willing to take 30 shots when he wants to, and be the one that everyone points to for the good and the bad. Part of being the number one superstar on your team is taking the criticism when things don’t go well.

The opposite happens as well. When things do go right, he’ll get the blame too. Taking on that responsibility will be part of a true superstar and MVP candidate.
