No. 1 goal for Ivica Zubac in the 2021-2022 season for the LA Clippers: Average 8.5 rebounds per game
Ivica Zubac averaged the most rebounds per game for the LA Clippers last year. He had 7.2 per game, which was half a rebound more than Ibaka.
He has a lot of potential with his rebounding, and he should lead the Clippers in rebounds again this year. The Clips aren’t a good rebounding team. He’ll have a lot of chances to keep the boards to himself, and needs to make sure he gets that done.
8.5 may seem like a lot, and it is. I do think it’s 100% attainable for Zubac, though. This is the same Zubac who averaged 7.2 this year in just 22.3 minutes played this season. Again, the Clippers have little depth at center, and Zubac is going to play a lot.
If he can hit that first goal of starting throughout the entire year, I think he can hit that 8.5 boards per game mark. This is the same player who grabbed 41 rebounds in Games 2 through 4 of the Western Conference Finals despite the Suns having a Deandre Ayton.
Zubac is capable of hitting this goal, as well as the other two. He is a quality true center in this league, and those don’t exist too much these days.
