No. 1 LA Clippers player who will experience a role change in 2021: Paul George

Paul George will be the number one guy for the LA Clippers until Leonard gets back.

It’s the first time he’s been the number one for a full season since the 2016-2017 season.

There’s a narrative that PG won’t be able to handle the assignment, but it’s false. PG almost took down LeBron James in the Eastern Conference Finals in just his third season.

He played the Suns tough in the Western Conference Finals just this past year as the number one. Remember, Kawhi went down after Game 4 of a tied series against the Jazz in the Western Conference Semis. George was the lead man as the Clips closed that series out in six.

It’s why I’m so high on the Clippers this year. PG has been a number one before, and even been the number one for this team. He’s proven that he can play at a high level, and will now finally have a consecutive season with his head coach.

One thing nobody can say about George is that he’s not up for the challenge. He proved last year that he was, and wouldn’t back down.

This whole team is clearly not intimidated by playing without Kawhi. They’re going to have a great season this year, regardless of these role changes.
