No. 2 key to Terance Mann’s development for the LA Clippers: Start him when possible
If the LA Clippers are playing against other small ball teams, go ahead and start Terance Mann.
We already know Ty Lue’s going to go small if the other teams do, so include Mann in the starting lineup.
Don’t start Bledsoe, don’t start Keon Johnson, but please start Mann. For instance, in the first game of the season, the Clips play the Golden State Warriors.
We know that the Dubs are going to go with a small lineup, especially if Klay Thompson is back. So, go ahead and bench Ivica Zubac for Mann, who can help Paul George and Reggie Jackson contain those shooters.
He’s a high-energy player, who would be huge when it comes to pressuring the ball and closing out on their shooters.
On offense, the Clippers can compete in the track meet that the Warriors are going to be trying to hold if they go with Mann. He’s not just a hustle player, but he’s got a lot of speed and quickness. That’s a scary sight for any backcourt in this league, even a healthy Warriors’ backcourt.
