No. 2 goal for Serge Ibaka in 2021-2022 season: Shoot 36% or higher from deep
Serge Ibaka wasn’t a bad three-point shooter for the LA Clippers last year, but he wasn’t great. He shot 33.9%. If he really wants to help the Clippers stretch the floor, he’ll need to be better than that.
He just needs to get right. That’s what his goal should be. Shoot like he had been before.
He had been shooting 36% from three over the course of his career coming into this past season. All he needs to do is get back to that level and the Clippers offense is really going to be clicking.
If he shoots like that, opposing defenses are going to be forced to constantly leave the paint wide open.
That’s going to lead to the likes of Paul George, Reggie Jackson, Terance Mann, and Eric Bledsoe slashing and cutting to the basket for easy lay-ins.
Ibaka shooting the way he can is not only beneficial towards him and his game, but it really unlocks this offense overall. This is what Ibaka can do that Zubac can’t. If Ibaka wants to start all year, he’s going to need to nail threes on a consistent basis.
