The LA Clippers‘ preferred starting lineup to me is:
PG: Reggie Jackson
SG: Paul George
SF: Nicolas Batum
PF: Marcus Morris Sr.
C: Serge Ibaka
There are a lot of different lineups that could work well with a team as deep as the Clippers, though. With Eric Bledsoe now in the picture, and Patrick Beverley now out of the picture, those different lineups look a bit different.
Ty Lue has probably already drawn up several new groups since the trade, and I’m sure he’s had these three in mind:
No. 3 LA Clippers lineup that Ty Lue must try this season:
PG: Eric Bledsoe
SG: Reggie Jackson
SF: Paul George
PF: Marcus Morris Sr.
C: Serge Ibaka
With the addition of Eric Bledsoe, the Clippers can actually have both him and the starting point guard, Reggie Jackson, on the floor at the same time.
That being said, they would need to make sure that Bledsoe runs the point. This is because Bledsoe regressed significantly last year when he moved to the two-guard spot.
I absolutely think Jackson is a great point guard, but I think he can be just as effective at the shooting guard position if Bledsoe is up to par at the point.
I want to make it clear that I still prefer the lineup at the very top of this article where Bledsoe doesn’t start, and Jackson is the starting point guard. I do, however, think that if the Clippers want to go with a quicker backcourt that would spark a lot of ball movement, they could try this group.
