The LA Clippers were reportedly considering going after a point guard this offseason in free agency.

It sounded like a good idea, because we didn’t know if Reggie Jackson would re-sign with us.

Thankfully, he did, and the Clips were right to not go and throw a bag at a free agent point guard. I’m pretty confident with the roster we have.

No. 3 free agent fans should be relieved the LA Clippers didn’t chase: Kyle Lowry

The LA Clippers made the right call in not going after Kyle Lowry this offseason.

He ended up signing a three-year deal worth $85 million with the Miami Heat. Can you imagine paying him that much just to find out that Jackson was down to stay?

Lowry is coming off of an injury, and signing him to that lucrative of a deal wouldn’t be a good idea. The Clippers were hit hard by the injury bug last year, so going with somebody who’s coming off of an injury-plagued campaign isn’t in the best interest of the franchise.

One of the few key Clippers who stayed healthy this year was Jackson. The team was right to prioritize re-signing him than going after somebody who was just dealing with injury issues. Lowry would fit with the Clippers, but so does Jackson, who is coming into the season after staying upright.
