No. 2 player who could break into the LA Clippers 2021-2022 starting five: Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley was originally in the starting lineup for the LA Clippers in the postseason.

He was booted somewhat quickly after he couldn’t handle Luka Doncic. He bounced back a bit, however, in the next two rounds of the postseason.

He saw plenty of starting action in the Western Conference Finals, and even was able to put clamps on the Suns’ star backcourt at many times in the series.

The Clippers can go back to that if they want to. It wouldn’t be in their best interest to do a straight swap of Jackson for Beverley, but they could start both, and just be a bit smaller.

Ty Lue has no issue going with small lineups, so don’t be surprised to see Pat Bev and Jackson starting at the same time.

This would also allow Jackson to be on the wing, instead of taking the ball up. Jackson is just as good of a point guard as he is a shooting guard to me, but mixing it up would be an ideal situation for the Clipper backcourt.
