No. 2 option for LA Clippers 2021-22 starting five

In this lineup, the LA Clippers are basically starting two point guards.

PG: Patrick Beverley

PG/SG: Reggie Jackson

SF: Paul George

PF: Marcus Morris Sr.

C: Ivica Zubac

Jackson is plenty effective as a two-guard, but he really came to life in the postseason as a combo guard who could handle the ball very frequently.

He can still be that in a two point guard lineup, and was at times in the Western Conference Finals. If Patrick Beverley starts alongside him, the Clippers can have Jackson play either guard spot and have Pat Bev’s defense on the floor as well.

Two point guard lineups worked out on the defensive end in the Western Conference Finals, despite playing against one of the best backcourts in the NBA in the Phoenix Suns.

If the Clippers want the three-time All-Defensive Team selection on the floor, they can go with this lineup. Starting two point guards likely means that the Clips won’t be able to have Batum in the starting lineup, but this could still very well be effective.

The other difference with this lineup is that Zubac is starting over Ibaka. This is because he plays a little bit bigger, and the Clips would need more size in a small lineup like this.
