No. 2 instant assignment for Justise Winslow on the LA Clippers: Be the spark plug at forward
Justise Winslow can be crucial for the LA Clippers in an injury situation. Let’s face it, the Clips were very banged up all year last year.
There were even times where players were available to play, but not available to perform to the best of their abilities. For instance, in the first four games of the Western Conference Finals, Morris was clearly not right. Ty Lue had to limit his minutes, and despite the Clippers having a deep roster, they couldn’t bring that spark that a healthy Morris brings on both ends of the floor.
Adding another long forward who can be successful on defense like Morris while also having the potential to shoot well could do the trick.
It’s not just with Morris, but any of our shooting guards and forwards. If somebody goes down, Winslow needs to nail that next-man-up opportunity. He can’t just be another body.
He needs to be able to make an impact every time he’s out there.
