No. 2 LA Clipper who should love Justise Winslow signing: Marcus Morris Sr.
Imagine if Justise Winslow was on the LA Clippers this past season, and could’ve given Marcus Morris Sr. a breather in the Western Conference Finals. It would’ve been huge for both Morris as well as the Clippers.
Morris wasn’t himself for the first four games of the Western Conference Finals, battling issues with his leg.
If Winslow, another long wing who can guard all three of the two, three and four positions could step in, the Clippers would have been much more efficient. The team still could have even started Morris, and had the chance to keep his legs fresh throughout the game by putting Winslow in for the times when Morris’s leg needed a rest.
It’s not even just about defense. Again, the last time Winslow played close to a full year, he looked good on offense.
He went for 12.6 points per game, and shot 37.5% from deep.
Having a wing who can now step in and give Morris, who quietly tends to take on some of the tougher matchups for the Clippers, a rest will pay dividends for the Clips this year.
All we need is for Winslow to stay healthy. The rest will work itself out.
