No. 1 free agent still available worth going after for the LA Clippers: DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan is planning to meet with the LA Clippers, according to Chris Haynes.

I love this fit. Just like Oladipo, DeRozan could help the Clippers tread water with Kawhi potentially out for a long time.

He can guard at least three positions on the basketball court. I know, Kawhi can guard at least four, but there’s only one Kawhi.

DeMar’s midrange game is almost as good as Kawhi’s, and he’s very well-rounded. He’s averaged 22.8/4.9 (A)/4.8 (R)/1.1 (S) since his first All-Star season in the 2013-2014 season.

He can do it all, and he’s been a star in this league. He took the Toronto Raptors to a six-game Eastern Conference Finals vs. prime LeBron James as a number one option.

DeRozan would be a huge get for really any team that’s able to land him, and the Clippers are certainly no exception. If that meeting goes well, there are going to be a lot of talking heads picking the Clippers to take the West next year.

The Clippers have a lot of potential this offseason, and signing one or more of these three guys could absolutely put them over the top.
