Updated LA Clippers Depth Chart after 2021 NBA Draft: Point Guard

The LA Clippers depth chart at point guard is now looking like this:

  1. Patrick Beverley (Starter)
  2. Rajon Rondo
  3. Jason Preston
  4. Yogi Ferrell

The change here is that Preston pops in at number three over Ferrell. I think he can facilitate an offense better than Ferrell, and that’s obviously a huge deal for a point guard.

Preston was tremendous in the pick and roll game in college. He’s not quick off the dribble. It was his passing that set him apart.

Ferrell has shot pretty poorly these last couple years, as he sits at 30.8% behind the three-point line. In Preston’s last two years, he’s shot 39.9% from behind the arc.

I know that’s at the college level, but I absolutely think Preston’s a better shooter right now.

When Reggie Jackson is asked to run the point, he’s the best point guard option. That being said, he’s a free agent this year, so he’s not on this list right now.
