3 LA Clippers most likely to be traded this offseason
By Evan Desai
The LA Clippers don’t really need to make trades this season, but we’ve said that about plenty of teams all over the league ever since the beginning of the NBA’s existence.
If you think the front office hasn’t pondered trade ideas and scenarios already, you’re wrong. We have no tradeable first-round picks until 2028, so the trades we’re going to make are going to be with players currently on our roster.
Trades could be huge for our squad this year. We have serious money issues, and free agency won’t go as well as the trade block could. There are several role players we could trade this offseason, but the top three most likely to be swapped with another team are pretty clear.
No. 3 LA Clipper most likely to be traded this offseason: Patrick Beverley
Patrick Beverley has been a bit of a polarizing player for the LA Clippers for a while now.
The Clippers know how to keep him level-headed for the most part, and have gotten a ton of good basketball out of him.
While Bev has made some enemies around this league, I do think he would get a lot of interest if the Clippers shopped him. He’s a three-time All-Defensive selection. After watching him contain the Suns’ star-studded backcourt, there are going to be teams intrigued.
The Clippers have also proven that they don’t necessarily need him, however, when they gave him very little run in the first round of the playoffs when he had to go up against a bigger guard.
When he doesn’t face a favorable matchup for him on defense, he’s a bit of a liability due to his average to below-average offensive play. He’s got lots of value, and the team doesn’t need him. If they can get the right call, the Clips could pull the trigger.
