LA Clippers: 3 free agents for LAC to stay away from
By Evan Desai
No. 2 free agent the LA Clippers need to stay away from: Dennis Schroder
I really don’t think Dennis Schroder is a good fit with the LA Clippers.
His playoff performance this year was pretty unimpressive.
He shot just 30.8% from three, scored just 14.3 points per game, and dished out just 2.8 assists per game. Schroder has regressed to me.
He’s not the player he was in the 2017 playoffs where he put up 24.7 and 7.7 on 45.5% shooting from the field and 42.5% from three.
There was a stretch in Atlanta from the 2016-2017 season to the 2017-2018 season where Schroder averaged 18.6 and 6.3 with a steal per game. I don’t think Schroder is trending up, and he was a $17.5 million man last year.
I don’t want to pay that for Schroder. There are more reliable options for the same or less money than Schroder. Hopefully we can re-sign Mr. June and not have to to worry about this anyway.
We should let the second-best LA team overpay for him again.
