No. 2 LA Clippers need in free agency: Big man depth

The LA Clippers don’t have many bigs signed through next year, excluding player options.

It’s just Zubac, Daniel Oturu, and Marcus Morris. Ibaka, DeMarcus Cousins, and Patrick Patterson may all not be back next year. (Ibaka has a player option.)

I really don’t think all three of those together will be here for the 2020-2021 season. I think Ibaka will, but Patterson was useless in the postseason and Cousins may get more money elsewhere.

So, for a team who already didn’t have a ton of big men on the roster (especially considering Morris plays the three sometimes), the Clips could really be shorthanded at these positions.

It’s going to be easier to find a big in free agency than the draft, and while the free agent market for big men isn’t any good this year, it will likely be pretty cheap. The Clippers don’t need to acquire a superstar; they just need more depth.
