No. 1 LA Clipper that could be traded before NBA Draft: Luke Kennard

I like Luke Kennard, but the LA Clippers don’t need him.

Kennard’s obviously been speculated as a trade piece for the Clippers, and it makes sense.

Kennard doesn’t provide much other than his shooting. There were times in the playoffs where his defense really hurt the team, and so many other times where he hasn’t even been able to be on the floor because his defense is a liability.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t like Kennard, but he’s getting overpaid. He made $12,727,273 this year, and that number’s going to go up in each of the next two years.

If the Clippers could get that contract off of their hands, they very well may go ahead and do it. Kennard put his three-point shooting talents on display all regular season and all postseason this year. Someone very well may be willing to bite.

All three of these players have just enough trade value to trade them, without being valuable enough to the team to the point where they have to keep them.

This draft season is going to be huge, and pre-draft trades can make it that much bigger.
