The LA Clippers will likely not be back with everybody next year.
We’d love to see this historic team run it back next season, but there are a few guys who realistically will most likely not be here.
The Clippers will have their chance to replace a player who won’t be back with their 25th overall pick, however. That 25th pick may not be the best, but there are absolutely potential impact players that the Clips could scoop up. These players could replace one of the players who are likely to depart this offseason.
No. 3 player the LA Clippers can replace in 2021 NBA Draft: Patrick Patterson
If the LA Clippers are trying to replace Patrick Patterson in the 2021 NBA Draft, the hope is that power forward/center Alperen Sengun from Turkey can drop all the way to them.
It can happen, as there are mocks I’ve seen recently that have him dropping to the mid-20s.
Sengun isn’t the tallest at 6’9,” but he’s very bulky and loves to play physical.
He doesn’t even turn 20 until Sunday, so we could replace an older Patterson with a very young big man who doesn’t shy away from contact.
He’s not afraid to throw anything down, and there aren’t many rebounders better in this class.
The Clippers need rebounding next year, as they were in the bottom half of the NBA in rebounding. Patterson realistically isn’t a very good rebounder, and never really has been. He’s never averaged more than 5.3 rebounds per contest in a season, and Sengun will easily surpass that in his career.
