No. 2 best new home for Serge Ibaka if he leaves the LA Clippers this offseason: The Washington Wizards

If Serge Ibaka leaves the LA Clippers, I’m sure he would not be opposed to playing for the Washington Wizards at all.

They need help at center, and we’ll never forget about how well Russell Westbrook and Ibaka played together in Oklahoma City.

Ibaka had the best years of his career with Westbrook in OKC, averaging three or more blocks per game in multiple seasons. He also put up 14.2 points per game from 2012 to 2015 with Westbrook calling the shots. He shot 37.3% from three in those years.

The Wizards’ centers in the 2020-2021 season were Robin Lopez, Alex Len, Daniel Gafford, and Thomas Bryant.

It doesn’t get much more disappointing than that group. Ibaka would have an instant impact if he went over to DC.

In a weak Eastern Conference, the Wizards could find themselves in the postseason again next year. In that case, they’ll want an Ibaka who has championship experience as a big.

Ibaka would immediately come in and start. He’d have a lot going for him there, and the Wizards would gain a lot from him being there as well.
