No. 2 most important player for the LA Clippers to re-sign for next season: Nicolas Batum

Nicolas Batum was the Mr. Fix-It of the LA Clippers all year long. Batum began the year as a starter and performed phenomenally in that time. He even proved that he can come off the bench and do a wonderful job with the second unit.

Nobody thought we’d get the production that he provided throughout the entirety of the 2020-2021 season.

During the season, Batum played in 67 games and averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists. That may not look that amazing, but if you watch Clipper Basketball you know the work that he does when he is on the floor. That includes getting into the passing lanes for steals, blocking shots, and not to mention shooting the second best three-point percentage of his career at 40.4% this season.

LA signed him for a veteran’s minimum deal last season. Now with Batum’s production exceeding what most expected, he may get offers from other teams. Still, I would expect the Clippers to push hard for his services for next year.
