If Kawhi Leonard does indeed choose to opt out of his player option with the LA Clippers this offseason, he’ll have a long list of suitors ready to offer him whatever they can.

While he’s best to stay with the Clippers for next year, there are many teams that can make strong pitches to the superstar.

Of the outside teams that are expected to be interested, there are four who stand out the most. They all may stand out for different reasons, but they all would provide an interesting fit if he wants to play for someone else other than the Clips.

No. 4 best new home for Kawhi Leonard if he leaves the LA Clippers this offseason: The New York Knicks

If Kawhi Leonard wants to leave the LA Clippers this offseason, it could be for money purposes.

The New York Knicks have $72.8 million to spend this offseason, which is easily the most out of any team in the NBA.

If Kawhi wants to chase a bag this offseason, the biggest one he can find will be from New York. On top of that, he would be able to play at Madison Square Garden, and be able to be in the number one media market in the country.

Leonard isn’t necessarily a spotlight guy, but the amount of exposure and coverage he’d get in New York would surely benefit his career and reputation.

He gets a lot of that exposure in LA, too. He has to compete with other players, however, being in a city with two teams. There are two teams in New York, too, but the city is all about the Knicks.

If he went there, he’d run New York and be the focus of all basketball fans all around the world.
