No. 1 LA Clippers free agent target who played for Ty Lue: Derrick Rose

Like Payne, Derrick Rose played for LA Clippers Head Coach Ty Lue in Cleveland.

Rose was a different player back then. That was in a rough state of his career that Rose has pulled himself out of.

Rose was very good this year, and really took it up another notch in the postseason when he was asked to up his minutes.

Rose put up 19.4 points per game this postseason, along with five assists per game. He connected on 47.6% of his field goal attempts, and an amazing 47.1% from three-point land.

Rose has been in this league since 2008, and has a ton of valuable experience playing at an elite level. He would be a great presence for this team, and has a little bit of playing history under our coach.

Of course, we’d rather go with Jackson.

There are actually some good options in case Jackson doesn’t work out, however.

A couple of them know our coach well, and could easily bring value to a Clipper team that will likely be dangerous next year.
