No. 2 threat that could sign Kawhi Leonard away from the LA Clippers this offseason: The New York Knicks

The New York Knicks certainly won’t have any issues paying Kawhi Leonard if they want to try to steal him away from the LA Clippers.

They have $72.8 million in cap room this summer. There’s a lot an NBA team can do with that. Nobody can offer Kawhi more than that, as long as the Knicks want to place Kawhi at the very top of their priority list.

The Knicks offer the number one media market in the world, the keys to the franchise that runs that entire city, the chance to play at Madison Square Garden 41 times a year, and finally a solid team to help continue to build.

The Knicks are always a possibility for big time free agents for those first three reasons, but now they have a good team with momentum that Kawhi would be coming into, and a ridiculous salary that they could hand him.

They certainly pose a threat when it comes to Kawhi’s chances of staying put with the Clippers.
