No. 3 reason why Kawhi Leonard should stay with the Clippers over the Warriors: There’s downside in going to a lesser team

Yes, I’m aware that the Warriors have a very high ceiling for next year. But I’m also aware of the fact that states that even if the Clippers lose to the Jazz in the second round, they were still head-and-shoulders better than the Warriors in back-to-back years.

Kawhi should not leave to go to a team that was much worse than his own team this year. The Warriors scream that they weren’t any good this year because of ‘injuries.’

That’s pretty hilarious to me, when I think about how many injuries up-and-down the entire roster that the Clippers had to deal with this year. The Warriors kept bringing up how injuries were so brutal to their team this year when they missed the postseason, but the Clippers had so many more players constantly getting injured than the Warriors.

Yes it’s not fun to lose Thompson, and it’s not fun to lose Wiseman either. But the Clippers were the better team this year despite having a lot more of their players go down.

I don’t get why you’d go to a team who has ‘Worst Team in the NBA’ and ‘Back-to-Back Postseason Misses’ on their resume in the past two years.

I’m not saying that the Warriors aren’t a good franchise; they’ve won three of the past six championships. But things have been going very poorly for Golden State recently, and Kawhi shouldn’t entertain the downside of going to a franchise that hasn’t been the same in years.

Hopefully we win this series and Kawhi doesn’t even think about leaving. But even if he does, I would most certainly advise him away from the Warriors.
