The LA Clippers need to be the Snyder cut to last year’s Weadon team
As did a lot of you, I stayed up late Thursday in order to watch Zach Snyder’s Justice League in its entirety. After over four hours of movie, I was satisfied with what I had watched and tried to go to bed with the impending dread of getting up for work only five hours later. In that sleep-deprived state, I began to think about the LA Clippers.
Yes, I have problems. Hear me out though.
The LA Clippers need to be the Snyder cut to last year’s Weadon version.
Let’s break it down.
When the Justice League came out, fans were cautiously optimistic. Sure, the previous film in the series, Batman vs. Superman, wasn’t anything to write home about but still, it was a new combination of heroes. The Clippers last season had acquired their own Batman and Superman in Paul George and Kawhi Leonard and fans were cautiously optimistic of their chances. Sure, past Clipper teams had left a sour taste but this had the potential to be different.
It wasn’t.
Luckily, much like the movies, we got another chance with a new “director”. Enter Ty Lue for Doc Rivers. With this change, we had something to be happy about and look forward to.
Now, I don’t think this movie can be spoiled since the original has been out for a few years but regardless, spoilers ahead.
Cyborg got a HUGE expanded role in the Snyder cut. The change made the film a lot better overall. Under Ty Lue, that kind of sounds like Ivica Zubac, doesn’t it? Zu is getting more time, especially late in the game and it has made this team better.
We still have our Batman and Superman and people are going to watch for them. However, it’s the small changes and additions that made things better. The inclusion of Martian Manhunter in Snyder’s cut was a nice addition, much like Serge Ibaka has been this season.
Ultimately, the Snyder cut was a better overall product and left DC fans wishing that there were going to be sequels as originally planned. I’m at the point where I think that’s all I want from the LA Clippers this season. I want it to be better than last season, especially when it comes to the postseason.
Obviously, a championship should be the ultimate goal but giving enough for fans to want more of this current iteration isn’t a bad place to be. The LA Clippers need to be more of Snyder’s movie and less of Weadon’s this season.
