After spending several games at low power, the LA Clippers are back to full strength in their second game against the Utah Jazz. It’s a great feeling after watching the reserves run out of gas in the last half of the first Utah game.
Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Luke Kennard and Nicolas Batum are all going to play, reuniting a starting lineup that is one of the absolute best in the league. The 5 starters as a lineup are +25 points in 167 minutes; replace Bev with Reggie Jackson and they’re a +41.6 in 62 minutes.
The LA Clippers are getting their dynamite lineup back against Utah tonight.
Fans of the LA Clippers can breathe a sigh of relief; when Paul George started missing time with a bone edema, the first thing we all did was look at what the internet said about the injury, and the internet suggested a multi-month recovery.
That’s what we get for playing armchair doctor, I suppose. PG only missed 7 games and is now back. Speaking about Paul George returning, Ty Lue had this to say.
"“I just know [George] has no pain and the swelling has gone down. He has done some full-court basketball stuff the last few days and he has been feeling good. No pain, no issues… both [pain and swelling] have gone away.”"
Kawhi will be returning to the court after missing 3 straight games with a leg contusion, and Batum will be returning after a concussion kept him out for two games.
Before last game, we knew not to take the results too seriously. The LA Clippers vs. the Utah Jazz is a high-octane Western Conference battle, but without three of our starters it didn’t mean much.
This game has become more meaningful now with the team at full strength. Of course, there’s going to be a bit of rust to work off, and this one game doesn’t tell us everything, but I would imagine fans of the LA Clippers are a bit more excited now than they were at the start of the day.
