Kawhi Leonard will be representing the LA Clippers as a starter on the All-Star Team this year! The votes are in, and the Klaw, unsurprisingly, made it. This will be the fifth time Kawhi is an All-Star in his career. To remind you, All-Star voting is a combination of voting by fans, voting by the media and voting by players.

Kawhi Leonard ranked 3rd among fans and media behind LeBron James and Nikola Jokic. The players ranked him 4th, also putting Anthony Davis above him. After averaging everybody’s votes, Kawhi ended up at the third spot.

Kawhi Leonard will be the sole member of the LA Clippers on the starting squad.

It’s a worthy honor for the LA Clippers’ leader, who’s averaging 26.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 0.6 blocks on .513/.389/.879 shooting. Before missing a couple games, Kawhi’s been carrying the team while Paul George rehabs his bone edema.

More from Clippers News

In the last 10 games that Kawhi Leonard played in, the LA Clippers are 7-3 and Kawhi averaged 29/7/4; he’s playing even better as the season goes along, and I expect him to return right back to form when he returns to the court.

As a reminder, in last year’s All-Star Game, the first to feature the Elam ending, Kawhi Leonard scored 30 points and was named the All-Star MVP. It’s a game that the Klaw takes seriously, and (since it seems there will indeed be a game), it’s one I expect him to give full effort to again this year.

As for his running mate in Paul George, he came in 5th on the frontcourt voting in all three areas – players, fans and media. It’s very reasonable to expect that PG will be a reserve, but that’s decided by coaches and not by our voting. Still, it will be hard to deny Paul George a spot on the team.

Next. The LA Clippers don’t need to make any trades. dark
