1. LA Clippers’ rumored trade: Lonzo Ball for Lou Williams, Patrick Patterson, and a second-rounder (2022)

Several trade options divided Clipper Nation. The potential interest for New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball is among one of those options. Several fans understood that the Clippers needed a dynamic offensive point guard to set up the offense. There were other factors such as his family name and former Laker mentality that fans had a problem.

In 19 games this season, Ball is averaging 13.4 points per game by shooting 42.2% field-goal percentage and 36.7% three-point shooting percentage. He is also averaging 4.3 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game, and 1.4 steals per game. In his fourth season in the NBA, Ball is finally showing that he can be a vital member of a playoff-caliber team.

Ball is among a few of the players that have been in the Clippers’ trade for potential trade targets. He has high potential but he will also have a high price. According to Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report, a potential package for Ball could include Williams, forward Patrick Patterson, and a second-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft via the Atlanta Hawks. This price might not sit well for the Pelicans as Ball is not only a key part of their offense but is a young, talented player.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Pelicans try to ask for a first-round pick instead of a second-round pick. Several other packages could be included that might still appeal to New Orleans. The Clippers do not have much access to a first-round pick and they can’t afford to lose it. Look for them to offer Kennard and a second round. Anything past that would be too high for Los Angeles to accept.
