The LA Clippers beat the Phoenix Suns 112-107. We’ve got the three things we noticed and took away from the Clippers’ big win.

The LA Clippers vs. the Phoenix Suns was a matchup of the top 2 seeds in the Western Conference, and it delivered. The Clippers pulled away early, but the Suns clawed and fought their way back to make it a close game.

At 5-2 with the number one seed in the west, the Clippers have to be feeling pretty good about themselves. The Phoenix Suns are a very good team, and tonight’s win could have tiebreaker implications later on down the road.

After such a good win, there were a few takeaways that we noticed, so let’s dive right in!

LA Clippers Takeaway #1: Paul George is Really, Really Good

We can’t talk about what to take away from this win for the LA Clippers without bringing up the most obvious one. Paul George is really, really good, and Paul George was incredibly good tonight, putting up one of his best performances as a Clipper.

39 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and a block on .625/.700/1.00 shooting propelled this team to victory. It couldn’t have been more timely, as it came during a game when Kawhi went 4-21 from the field and just couldn’t ever get it going on offense.

PG told us he was going to have a better year and regain his form from OKC, when he was an MVP candidate, and this game is just another piece of evidence that he was right. When George is on, he is unstoppable on offense, and today he was unstoppable.

He did it with Devin Booker in his ear all game too; the two would end up sharing some heated words after PG took offense to Cam Payne falling on top of him. Emotions ran high, but it didn’t stop George from continuing to perform.

Paul’s been extra aggressive in the first quarter this season; it feels like the team really clicks if he can get it going early, and today was no exception. In just the first quarter, PG had 14 points on 5/7 shooting.
