3. LA Clippers Takeaway: Paul George finds a way to get it done

Paul George was horrible from the field last night. I mean horrible. He shot just 6 of 22 from the field, good enough for 27.3%. Last year, especially in the playoffs, this probably would have been the focus and PG would have had a terrible box score. This year, though, he was still helpful and ended up leading the team in scoring.

Once PG realized the shooting wasn’t happening, he put his head down and attacked the rim. He finished a perfect eight for eight from the free throw line.

He ended up scoring 25 points and added eight rebounds and four assists.

More impressively, however, was his effort on the defensive end. George ended the night with six(!) steals and one block. He was everywhere and his impact was felt.

George has been on a mission so far this season and it’s extremely reassuring to see that he will find ways to have a positive impact on the game even when he is unable to connect from the field.
