The LA Clippers lost to the Utah Jazz on Friday. Here are three takeaways from the loss.

The LA Clippers lost their second game of the season on Friday, again falling on the day after a holiday and on the road. This time, it was a 106-100 loss to the Utah Jazz.

The Clippers came out looking rough early but managed to fight back several times. Here are three takeaways from the hard-fought loss.

1. LA Clippers Takeaway: Kawhi Leonard’s big night

Kawhi Leonard had yet another big night after returning from missing games due to his mouth laceration. Luckily, while he did miss time, Leonard has yet to miss a step.

Leonard did a little bit of everything and nearly earned his second triple-double of his career. Leonard put up a crazy stat line of 20 points, 16 rebounds, 9 assists, and three blocks.

He was absolutely everywhere, trying to help the team pull off the win. While the triple-double would have been nice, his stats are still extremely impressive. In fact, according to the Clippers PR team, Leonard joined Danny Manning as the only two players in Clippers’ franchise history to have at least 20 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists, and three blocked shots.

While the Clippers’ franchise history isn’t, well, exactly rife with history and records, this is still one that stands out. It’s a shame the team couldn’t pull out the win and that he couldn’t get just one more assist, but it’s nice to see him clicking on all cylinders.
