LA Clippers Game 5: Trail Blazers, 1-5 point win

The Trailblazers game is the one I’d be least surprised about getting wrong. After many words were exchanged on social media between these teams in the bubble, Damian Lillard likely has this game circled as a revenge game.

Am I betting against Dame having a scoring explosion and waving goodbye as the Clippers leave the court? No. No I am not.

But top to bottom, this Clippers team is able to handle what the Blazers have to throw at them, and somebody like Paul George might just have this game circled as well. It will be an evenly matched game. Both teams have two great scoring threats and a complement of surrounding talent to help out the stars.

What it comes down to is last season. In the three games these teams met in the regular season last year, the LA Clippers won all three games. So while I fear checking the clock halfway through the game and seeing that it’s Dame Time already, I think that the Clips find a way through Portland much like the last few times, and at the end of the game we see the Clippers victorious.

Again, if I only get one wrong, this is the one I think it is. But nobody likes reading about hedged bets, so I’ll set it in stone that I’m predicting the Clippers to pull out a tight game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

December record: 4-1
