LA Clippers: Predicting the Results of the December Games
LA Clippers Game 4: Timberwolves,10+ point win
Here is what I think will be the most comfortable win of December for the LA Clippers. Minnesota has a solid team, but they’re the kind of roster that the Clippers feel built to defend well.
Karl Anthony Towns will be the difference-maker for the Timberwolves, but he’ll likely be defended by a 7 footer who’s great on defense for every minute he’s on the court. D’Angelo Russell can score the ball, but the Clippers are, again, able to throw several great defensive wings at him.
And they can do that because there’s not much in the way of scoring threats from the wing for Minnesota. Beasley and Okogie are fine, but I don’t expect them to be huge threats to light up the scoreboard.
If one of Kawhi or PG can be constantly guarding D-Lo, and one of Zubac or Ibaka can be constantly guarding KAT, then it’s hard to see where the points in bunches come from on the Minnesota roster.
Of course, I don’t want to totally jinx myself here. KAT is one of those talents that is capable of getting hot no matter who is guarding him. But, if Towns does start to heat up, I’m looking for Coach Lue to show that he’s not Doc Rivers, and that he’s able to make adjustments to account for a big man going off.
The Clippers were 2-1 against the Timberwolves last year, and I expect this series to start off 1-0 this year in a comfortable victory for the good guys.
December record: 3-1
