In their second year of NBA service, Mann and Kabengele look to carve out roles for themselves on LA Clippers.

By way of Florida State University, Terance Mann and Mfiondu Kabengele joined the LA Clippers in 2019 as the 48th and 27th draft picks. At the time, the Clippers were fresh off of a surprising six-game playoff series against the Golden State Warriors and featured a bevy of young talent that the two Seminoles had hoped to add to. However, the arrivals of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George shifted the Clippers’ timeline in a way that didn’t exactly lend itself to the development of young players.

Now, Mann and Kabengele find themselves in a similar position as they look towards the 2020-2021 season. The Clippers once again contending for an NBA championship and the sophomores having to earn every minute available to them. However, with as minimal a role that they’ll likely play this season, youth development will still be a priority for the Clippers particularly in a season that could see players yanked from the lineup at a moment’s notice due to positive coronavirus tests.

What should we expect from the duo? Will they have an expanded role given the team’s moves in the offseason? Let’s dive into each and what they can possibly bring to this LA Clippers team in year two.
